Amazing God & the power of prayer
spring break is over.
one day of classes have already passed and i'm not sure what to do with the rest of the semester. all i can think about is the summer and the following semesters here at case. i thought i struggled with a motivation to get through school, but now it's not a problem anymore. it's amazing how God reveals himself everyday.
in the past 2 days i've heard the greatest of news.
--my friend's parents (who are nonxtian) are finally letting her apply to seminary! we were eating lunch together; she was on her laptop looking up seminaries in the u.s. that she wanted to attend and i could just see the joy and thankfulness in her face. after years of praying for this, God finally granted her peace.
--one of my suitemates wants to go to missions. and despite all the odds, she's going to apply and see where God is going to lead her.
--another friend got an interview at Case for dental school and that's amazing because she hasn't been hearing from other schools or she's been hearing rejections.
--another friend got into the final round of "Teach for America" so he may have something to do next year. =)
--my mentor received great news and peace hearing how she could do God's work directly in her home country.
--and me. i have someone who loves me and wants the best for me. haha, that sounds like my parents. but y'know what i mean.
after hearing all this news, i knew that it couldn't have been anyone but God. who else makes the impossible possible? who else answers prayers at just the right time? who else grabs our hand just as we feel like we're going to fall down hard? only Him.
seeing Him work in my friends, i can't help but believe that He will do the same for me. that one day He will clearly reveal what He wants to do with me. with my mediocre grades, crazy personality, and odd passions. =)
i also learned the great power of prayer. all of the things i mentioned above didn't happen in the absence of prayer. God didn't randomly bless us with these things b/c He thinks we deserved them. He granted the opportunities because we earnestly prayed for God to rule over our lives and for Him to do with us as He pleased. praying for yoon when i wake him up in the morning. praying for my family after i get off the phone with them. praying with my suitemates every monday. praying with koinonia leadership every week. praying with my mentor every monday night. and praying every night (almost ! -__-;;) by myself just makes the biggest of differences. letting God do what He wants and me submitting and surrendering.
some may criticize and say that we're too lazy to take control of our life and too scared to make mistakes. but that's not true. we still have ambitions. we still have control and will. but it's knowing that our life really ultimately isn't our own. we didn't create ourselves. we didn't create life on earth. we didn't bring harmony in nature. God did. and it's being able to be humble and submit our lives to him that really makes our life worthwhile. knowing that we're serving a purpose. our ambitions are brought before God to see if they're within His plan. we tell God what we want and pray about it to see if His will is in agreement. sometimes we mess up and pursue them ourself. but then we get slapped and realize we were wrong. it's hard to explain, but i hope i said what needed to be said.
too bad i have to go to lab soon.
otherwise i'd write some more.
=) byebyeee.
