Case in Point and Koinonia

CASE IN POINT!
AHHHHH we were amazing!

It was one of the first times that I felt really confident that we did well.
I loved the venue. Strosacker is the best venue by far. More than Harkness and Amasa even tho they are churches and the acoustics are awesome. I feel like Strosacker is more personal. At Harkness or Amasa, because we're in a church the pews are kind of restricting and we're also elevated. That just feels awkward. So yea. I hope people took lots of pictures/videos!

Afterwards we all met up together to reflect on our past year(s) in cIP and kind of say our goodbyes to the seniors. It was pretty emotional for some of us because w.o cIP, we may have never gotten to know each other.

Yay cIP! I'm gonna miss you guys. I'll continue coming to your concerts, f'sho! =)

=======================================

KOINONIA.
AHHHH I'm gonna miss Koinonia a lottttt. But considering that I'm staying, it won't be that different. But not being on leadership will be weirdddddddddd.

Here are some pictures from Senior Night... I was lame and totally did not take pictures before clean up... -___-;;

Yoon always complains about his smile but he looks great here! =)

Alex trying to imitate my balloon pose. =P

More of my poses.....hahaa

SUSIE!
AHHH... what shall I do w.o you to make me laugh all the time?

A lot of other people took pictures of just seniors, funny ones, etc. So I'll wait for those and steal 'em later. kekeke.

What I said at the open mic is very true. There are a few memories that really stick out when I think of my 4 years @ CWRU and Koinonia. And GOD has truly been evident and faithful through it all. In summary, God's really grown me in the area of relationships.

1. My second year with the Clarke Girls.
It was my first time living with so many girls. Seriously. Weirdest thingever. I'm glad I got the single because even though they were super cool, I don't think I can handle being around girls ALL... THE... TIME. But something I will never forget are the Monday (or Tues?) night meetings where we always met up to share, vent, encourage, and pray. We witnessed answered prayers. We witnessed growth in our spiritual lives. We witnessed God MOVING in our lives. AHH! I will never forget you women of God!

Pictures from sophomore year...

More recent photos.... =)

2. My big/little relationship w. Lisa.
I love my brother, Sam. But I've always wanted... 1: An older brother and 2: a younger sister.
God answered the latter prayer since the former probably wasn't going to happen..at least not biologically. =P

Lisa.
I remember meeting her casually at the restaurant she worked at when she was still in high school. I forget if it's Superior Pho or Pho Number 1. But it was one of those and it was also my first time eating pho. Seemed like a pretty important moment. I already knew of her boyfriend and she had been accepted into Case and was planning on going there. Yoon told me that she was also a xtian so I started praying that she would come to Case.. Koinonia.. and really be satisfied in a relationship with the Lord.

It took me an entire semester and a half to realize that God was really calling me to be her big. Only after her first spring retreat did I recognize His calling and I asked her if she wanted a mentor. And from there it was awesome.

For the rest of that semester, we studied the Book of John. But more than the Bible Studies, we really confided in one another. I loved being ableto just talk freely with no fear that she'll judge me.

And esp. with the events from last semester, she remained strong and taught me SO MUCH about how to truly PERSEVERE and TRUST in the LORD for all things!!! I will never forget you, Lisa.

3. My relationship with Clara.
I remember one of our very first conversations. It was about the KSA meeting for freshmen and I was wondering if she was going. Because I didn't wanna go if she was gonna go. She went. And I didn't. haha. We had one class together: Psych 101. Eric was also in that class... and so begins our friendship. I've learned so much from her: hospitality, serving, selfless love, truly giving w.o wanting anything in return, and secure in her own identity and beauty. I don't think I'm ever going to have another roommate like you!

Haha. Can you guess when each of these were taken?

4. REAL LEADERSHIP.

Leadership even in high school didn't push me this hard to live faithfully. There's a really strong calling of integrity when you step into leadership. This past spring retreat, God really broke me down and humbled me. He basically said, "Why didn't you rely on me more? Why don't you have faith?" More and more leadership makes me realize that even though I have a "title" I'm still first and foremost His servant and that I am no greater than anyone.

But many who are first will be last, and the last first --Mark 10:31

5. Yoon.
Never have I experienced SO much grace and forgiveness through one person besides my family. In the same way, no one has ever pushed me so hard to be patient and honest like you have with me, either. I can't thank God enough for you.

I know I'll be back at CWRU next year so it's not too bad of a goodbye. =)
But I will definitely miss my undergraduate experience.

Don't.Waste.Your.Life.

more of the wade lagoon AND the quad!

More photos from today. =) Getting the hang of it. And also avoiding work, naturally.

HM... why are we still using the old logo from 5 billion years ago?

Clara (my roommate) took me to the 11th floor in the BRB (Biomedical Research Building). REEEALLY NICE VIEW. My photos don't do justice. And the BRB is sweet! If I were a med student, I'd totally hang out there. =)

itty bitty cleveland in the background. can you spot it?

But there are still some unsettling emotions so I'll be doing another post later with things I'll miss about Case/Koinonia Undergrad experience. =) It won't be depressing. Hopefully it'll be happy and full of good memories.

Friday-Saturday this week is gonna be 70+ degrees! CRAZY STUFF. Time to whip out my camera and redeem myself for the poor quality photos from yesterday~ =D

The Wade Lagoooonnn

okaaay.... SOOO... the lens isn't perfect. but it still gets the job done and I'm kind of limited to only doing outdoor photos until I find an awesome flash. and today was pretty cloudy and I took pictures late in the day (around 6pm) so it was just bad lighting all around. But there was still enough. And sadly I only liked 15 out of the 75-80 I took. Not too bad. and the following few are the ones I deem blogpost worthy. =) So enjoy.

If you wanna see other photos I took of the Wade Lagoon in the past, go to this post and this picasa gallery.

oops, didn't quite center there.. -____-;;

pictures!

to come soon. =)
it wasn't sunny... but my new super cheap wide-angle lens came in and I couldn't resist using them. So I took a field trip to the lagoon after choir. I have another rehearsal for choir in just 10 minutes. We're singing Gloria by John Rutter. Good stuffffff.

lecrae - beautiful feet

14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:14-15

"Go, go, go
You hold the truth that saves so run and shout it to the world
They can't believe in something they ain't never heard
Go, go, go and run with those beautiful feet"

check ittt

"stay focused if you aint got no ride
your life aint wrapped up in what you drive
the clothes you wear the job you work
the color your skin naw we Christian first
people living life for a job make a lil money start living for a car
get em a house a wife kids and a dog when they retire they living high on the hog
but guess what they didn't ever really live at all to live is Christ yeah that's Paul I recall
to die is gain so for Christ we give it all he's the treasure you'll find in the mall
Your money your singleness marriage talent and time
they were loaned to you to show the world that Christ is Divine
that's why it's Christ in my rhymes That's why it's Christ all the time
my whole world is built around him He's the life in my lines"

disney & boys

anyone else notice how girly disney is? i mean it always has been with all the princesses and all... but seriously, i've noticed lately that all the shows are about girls... or maybe bc i'm a girl and it's more obvious to me. but nytimes also agrees!
Read about it. Click the title below.

Disney Expert Uses Science to Draw Boy Viewers

Some quotes I found interesting:

"Actors have been instructed to tote their skateboards around with the bottoms facing outward. (Boys in real life carry them that way to display the personalization, Ms. Peña found.)"

"Disney Channel’s audience is 40 percent male, but girls drive most of the related merchandising sales."

"The guys are trickier to pin down for a host of reasons. They hop more quickly than their female counterparts from sporting activities to television to video games during leisure time. They can also be harder to understand: the cliché that girls are more willing to chitchat about their feelings is often true."

I dunno much about social factors and all that stuff, but could it be that because of the lack of appeal to younger boys they grow up to be more effeminate... than say 20 years ago? Or are they exposed to sensitive, "for older people" material at such a young age that they have become desensitized to material appropriate for their age? i have too many questions...

Celebrate, Jesus is alive!

What a beautiful day! A little bit chilly... but warm enough to wear open-toed sandals. =) I remembered my memory card and brought my camera to church! yayyyy. but before you scroll down, I need to share this.

So this weekend was pretty crazy. Well this whole week was kind of like.. ...............whoa.
My sleeping schedule was off a little bit, I went to work out like 3 times at 5:45am, I totally didn't read my Bible during Passion Week... and every day seemed like a blur. By the time Friday rolled around, I was not prepared to go to large group, so I didn't. I thought I'd be "well enough" to go to Clara's (my roommate) feminar (where she's sharing her testimony and cooking enough food for 20 people) on Sat. night. But my soul was just... tired? I guess that's a good enough word for now. I just had to be .. away. I couldn't stand being around people. Not that they were annoying... but I didn't have enough of myself to give to others and I wasn't being fed enough by God through the Word and prayer. And the fact that I'm still awaiting Pratt's decision doesn't help my stress.

But last night was really good. Rest. Good food. Small company. And I could rediscover God and just rest in Him.

And today. I was ready to really celebrate and be around people again. Yay! Praise the Lord.

Okay, that's all. Please just pray for strength for me. Merci.

Now time for a collage of pictures from today! [click on image for enlarged version]

There's more... but I'm too lazy to upload every single individual one. =P hehe. I'll upload them to facebook. ^ ^

CASE IN POINT

pure awesomeness. SERIOUSLY.
and our photographer is absolutely incredible. MAJOR PROPS, bert!!! check out his portfolio here.

Yay seniors

Angry music directors who'll beat you up if you don't stop talking and pay attention. =)

Lovely, adorable freshman boys!

the whole group from a high angle. gotta love those angled shots!

everyone with their counterpart. apparently each girl has a distinct style so we each got a guy (except me, I have two) to also match our style.

GAHHHHHHHHH i love these photos.
thanks so much, bert! seriously!
he's awesommmme.

okay, i'm done.

april fool's...

i totally had an awesome prank to pull today... but alas. I did not have enough time to prepare. -____-;;

but i always get fooled by gmail's jokes. Check it out here.

Last year they said that the new thing was that they would print out every single email that you wanted, compile it in a box, and deliver it to your home the next day. I was like, SHUT UP! I also remember telling people about it at mike fu's birthday party (his birthday is also april 1st) and people also reacted the same way. Haha. funny stuff. we were ALLLLL fooled. But this year's isn't as convincing. Mostly bc I knew it was coming. =P

April 1st also marks my half birthday. I will be 23 in just 6 months. AHH that's freaky. I know people who are 23 and already married. That's even freakier.

But happy birthday to Mike! I haven't seen him in ages but I know that the Lord is still growing in him and continuing to teach him new things. I love it, actually, when i dont see people in a while.. and then I randomly meet them, but we seem to have an hour or to just to lounge around, so we stop by a nearby cafe or bakery and sit and catch up. I love hearing how they've grown and laughing until my sides are sore or crying until I have no more tears left.

okaaaaaaaaaay. i guess that's it. I gotta get back to work. This laptop is dying on me.
