weird weather!
i check the weather as often as i check my email, facebook, and this blog. that means i check the weather more than three times a day. maybe i have ocd. anyway. yesterday when i checked the weather for buffalo grove it said 89degrees, incredibly humid and partly sunny. i took the train today as usual, went to class, and rode the train back to my stop, lake cook rd. a few stops into the ride, it started pouring like crazy. i was like, that's weird. it's raining really hard. it's very rainy. this wasn't in the forecast. i was hoping that by the time we got to my stop it would've stopped raining. nope. it didn't. it kept on pouring. i got off the train and immediately got soaked in the heavy rainfall. ohman. and on top of that, i'm wearing white & yellow top. grrrrrrrreat. i run to my car which of course is parked really really far. i started to drive home, feeling very uncomfortable being soaking wet in the car. on the way, i noticed the rain was getting lighter. and by the time i got home, it wasn't raining at all ! i asked my mom if it had rained here and she said, "not a drop." not a drop?! well at least the forecast was right. in buffalo grove, it didn't rain at all. but it seemed like everywhere else it was raining! now i hafta check the weather for buffalo grove, glenview (where my stop is), AND chicago's weather just so i don't run into this craziness again.
and yesterday as i was driving home i grabbed this awesome shot. it took me several tries to get the perfect one. i think i took about 20 shots while i was driving. so dangerous. the things i do for pictures. tsktsk.
i watched evan almighty over the weekend. i reeeally enjoyed it. it was more applicable to me than bruce almighty. one quote i remember was when God (Morgan Freeman) said to Evan (Steve Carell) that he was doing it because he loves Evan. At the time, it seemed like God telling Evan to build the ark was ruining his career and his family matters. But often times we're so narrow-minded and our vision is quite limited. We're not making ourselves available for God to do his work. And we're afraid to do the commands that God gives us sometimes because it's going to ruin our reputation, put us at risk at work or school, sever relationships, etc. But anything God gives us is good. And He does it because he loves us. That was a good reminder from the movie. =)
i still can't believe i got soaking wet from the train station. i should always carry an umbrella from now on. no matter how silly i'll look.
